due to unforseen issues in my life i have decided to go friends only. i have made changes to my friends list as well. if you would like to be added, please let me know. explain to me why i should add you, where you know me, and if you plan on dropping a drama bomb in my lap. if you're already on my friends list then you're fine. if you think you've been dropped or you want to be added...comment here and i will make that decision. i'm done with the drama.

WOW let's stroll down memory lane...shall we?

can't brain kitty
so i was cleaning my room (yes...again...) and i came across a box of 3.5" floppy disks. so i busted out my laptop and the USB Floppy drive and hooked it up. i found bunches of pictures from 2000 and on, and i found one that said "Redneck pagan and viking". so i put it in and clicked...and this is what i found:

viking manual circa 1998 )

and then there's this one:
you might be a redneck pagan if... )

too funny, huh? life was crazy in 1998.

Missing from the LA Area since Wednesday 7/10

EDIT: Noah's father has been found. unfortunately he was not found alive. more information will follow on his LJ ([info]dirtnap13). while i'm sure condolences will be appreciated, i'm sure that he understands we feel for him and his family. what will be best is to send the Korda family any healing energy you can muster. thanks for listening

for those of you who know about bats day you will know who [info]dirtnap13 (Noah K) is. well a couple of days ago, i saw a note posted on twitter saying that his father was missing since wednesday. here is the news broadcast from channel 2 (LA Local CBS Station):

from his Youtube site:
My father left Thursday 7/9/09 morning @ 7:45am to go to a job and never made it to the job. The job called the person who booked him the job and said that he never showed up.

He left from the Van Nuys area. Major cross streets Woodman & Victory. His destination was to be in Hollywood at the Gower Studios at Sunset & Gower.

He was driving a white 1994 Geo Metro. I dont have the license plate but will get it. My father is the type of person that is right to the point so he would have just taken the most obvious route. Victory to the 170 to the 101 to Gower. But at this point who knows. He is also the type of person that wouldn't really go somewhere with out telling someone. Its like he just disappeared into thin air.

Name: Robert Korda
Age: 69 Height: 5'5"
He is in good health

Any info would be great since we are at a total loss. We have contacted all the hospitals and police stations and there has been no one with his description at all. This is why I am now going to cyberspace since it seems that normal channels are not helping.

Any info can be emailed to me @ findrobertk (at) aol (dot) com

As much as I would love emails that say I'm sorry for your loss, please do not send this kind of emails to the email account or to this post. Thank you for this your understanding.

Any info that can help would be greatly appreciated. My family is a mess right now and we dont know what else to do. You can repost this to other groups if you need to.

Thank you.

Noah Korda

Printable missing poster. (pdf)

for anyone living in the southern california area, please please please no matter what area you live in...if you can print out and post these missing posters, any help would be greatly appreciated. i dont know Noah other than one of the people who makes bats day happen, but he is a good hearted man and he shouldn't have to go through something like this.

the latest update i have is that they were able to get a court order to have verizon wireless give them the GPS information from his cell phone. the hope is that this will help in the search. if i had the money to go down there and help with the search, i would do it.

thanks for listening. any prayers, thoughts, good wishes you can send his way would be helpful.

OK kiddies...this is what everyone has been waiting for. let the selling begin.

1st item: blue earth shoes sandals. $10.00

2nd item: leather patchwork sandals. $10.00

3rd item: brown buckle mules. $5.00

4th item: black buckle mules. $5.00

5th item: black work clogs. $5.00

6th item: brown bass slip ons. $5.00

7th item: camo tennies. $5.00

please let me know which one you would like, if you would like me to mail them (send your address in a separate private message) or if you would like to meet me somewhere to pick them up (remember i live in south san francisco), and if you will be paying cash or giving me a check (for which you will need my real name).

please note...even if we have spoken already and you have shown an interest in a certain pair of shoes, please speak up again. someone else may want them as well and they may not know that we have already had a conversation.

if more than one person would like the same pair of shoes (from what i understand this could be a definite possibility), i will trust that you can all be civil **eyebrow raised at [info]tatymai** (kidding) and work it out between each of you. i will have more at a later date, but these are the best of the bunch. please realize that the only reason i'm getting rid of these is because i bought them on a whim and either didn't wear them or they were too small.

OK ladies...have at it.

well well well...seems i have quite an interest in my shoes.

OK ladies...here's the way this is going to work. since everyone on my FL has a different schedule and i want to make this fair for everyone, i will be posting the pictures of the shoes without comments so everyone has a chance to see them and see what they are interested in. i will leave the post up for 24 hours and then make another post that says "ok which ones do you want". this will also make it easier for everyone to decide if they have the extra money to spend (really they're not going to be more than 10 bux). on each of the pictures i will give a brief comment to let you know if they are never worn, slightly worn, etc, what the size is, and how much i am asking for them. i have 7 pairs of shoes that i am currently taking pictures of and barring any issues with my phone/camera, i should have them up by midnight tonight.

again...i will be posting the pictures with comments disabled for 24 hours... then i will make another post wherein you can tell me what you desire. hopefully this will give everyone a chance to look at the shoes and make a decision. fair enough? ok then...let the battle begin!!!!

BTW...i have another pair of black boots. they're not as kool as the ones in the icon, but they are nice anyway. ^_^

Imelda Marcos is having a sale

  • Jul. 8th, 2009 at 11:23 PM
blah blah blah
for those of you who dont know me personally, when i was younger my mom likened me to Imelda Marcos. she is known as the widow of former phillipine dictator Ferdinand Marcos, but she is best known for her love of shoes. "Imelda is probably well known around the world by the general public mostly due to her massive shoe collection, which contained over 2,500 pairs of shoes." so...suffice it to say she had a lot of shoes.

so...i have always loved shoes. having size 10's it's difficult to find good shoes that fit well, so when i find them...i buy them. lately i have come to the realization that i will need to be more aware of (a) my money and (b) the type of shoes i buy. so...i am paring down my shoes. some of them i've worn once...some of them i've never worn at all. i will be posting pictures over the next few days of shoes that i have that i want to get rid of. some of them will be $5 bux and some will be $10 (depending on the quality and wear and tear). i will NOT be selling shoes that are worn out. those will go in the trash. if you think i should post pictures of shoes that i'm tossing, please let me know and i'll do that. but seriously...if i think they're crap i'm gonna toss 'em.

so...shoes...they're being sold...pictures are coming soon...they're all going to be size 10 or more some will be wide...some not. you interested? let me know.

so...my mom got me these boots about 5 years ago and i haven't ever worn them. they're black patent, but they are stretchy. they are size 8 with a 5" heel and 1.5" platform.

i'm asking $45. if you're local, there's no charge for postage 'cos i could deliver them to you. if you're out of the peninsula (south of san mateo), i would have to mail them to you.

Nathan Sawaya, breakout
these are from [info]faireblondie

Confidante (which is different from confident) quite a few people confide in me. i wonder if it's because they know i have limited memory space and they know that most of it will be gone in a short time. heh. there is still information rolling around in my head that people have given me that really will never go away. i dont like having secrets kept from me, but i dont mind keeping secrets from others...especially when they will hurt the other person. those are the secrets that i put in the "soon to be removed" spot of my brain.

Aunt this is a title i wear with pride. i love my niece. i'm glad she was brought to us. i dont think our lives would be as full as they are now if she wasn't with us. i teach her when she wants to learn. i console her when she is sad. i pray for her future because she has taken over the mediator roll at the young age of 6. she tells us when we are wrong, and sometimes she's right. my choice is to never be a mom, but i'm very glad that i'm an auntie.

Peace oh how i wish for it. even in my sleep i am rarely at peace. i just want to be able to say a magick word and have everything be right with the world...even just in my own little world. there are few places where i am truely at peace...one is the beach. more specifically the pier at pacifica beach. another is with certain friends. that rare occasion when everything is going right, i'm sitting there with my friends around me, and i can truely say i am at peace. i wish that would happen more often. one of the most important places in my life where i am at peace is disneyland. i know...there's so much going on around me when i'm there, but i am usually accompanied by friends, skipping down main street with my niece, or sitting at paradise pier in DCA at sunset eating a bread bowl of clam chowder soup. i can say...that truely brings me peace.

Hugs i love to give hugs. i love to receive hugs. i usually greet someone new to our circle with a hug to see how they respond. its a way for me to gauge how this person deals with personal contact. that's not to say that i automatically hug someone...i'll sus them out first and make a move from there. i know that there are people who prefer to not get hugs. and there are days when i feel that way as well. you'll know when you first see me if i am approachable or not. i hope that when i see you next, you will give me a hug.

Eeyore ah...yes...eeyore. what's not to like. he's the original goth. he's always wishing that things would go better for him. luckily he surrounds himself with good friends (pooh bear, piglet, tigger, rabbit) who know how to make him smile. i have nearly every eeyore that's been sold. i have eeyore pins, i have eeyore stuffies, i even have an eeyore balloon that was given to me when i was an office manager. but more than that...i have eeyore with me always. i have an eeyore tattoo on my left shoulder. it's not upside down...it's the right way. i got it because it shows eeyore at his happiest. "and suddenly eeyore was so happy he simply had to stand on his head".

"When stuck in the river, it is best to dive and swim to the bank yourself before someone drops a large stone on your chest in an attempt to hoosh you there."
Eeyore from "Eeyore's gloomy Little Instruction Book" by A. A. Milne

i could honestly go on forever about eeyore. i'll have to tell you about the time i got to dance with eeyore for my birthday! maybe that'll be a whole post in itself one day. instead i'll leave you with this:

eeyore's lullaby Take My Hand: Songs from the 100 Acre Wood, performed by: Tyler Collins (opens a .wav file)

i know some people on my friends list are DJ's, and hopefully you'll be interested in DJing Bats Day in So Cal!

history is interesting...

ya know...i'm watching this series of shows on the american revolution on the history channel. i've been watching it since 10am this morning. i'll be watching 1776 tonight at 7:15 also. if i had been given all of this information when i was in high school i might have been more interested in history. i dont remember any of this stuff being in our books. did you know there was a woman on the battlefield that fought alongside her husband and when he died, she picked up and fought for him?! neither did i. she's a little blip on the history screen, but she's interesting to me. i'll have to look for her name again. i'm terrible with remembering stuff.

so...yeah...history could have been interesting to me if i had been given this outlet when i was younger.

happy 4th of july from disneyworld!

i saw this on [info]johno's journal first and then i saw it on [info]chriso's journal and thought i would try it. so...here goes...

Reply to this meme by yelling "Words!" and I will give you five words that remind me of you. Then post them in your LJ and explain what they mean to you.

Chris gave me these:

Creative-- ah yes. something i'm happy that i've carried on from when i was young. i used to be able to see something and draw it right away. sadly with the 2 accidents i've been in, that bit of my brain is gone. now...my creativity is mostly seen in my cooking, baking and costuming.

Hugs-- mmmm love 'em. unless, of course, i'm in one of those moods. you'll know it when you see it. feel free to give me hugs most any time.

Strong-- this is something i wish i was. i know a lot of my friends think that i am, but sadly...i dont think the same way. i've been hurt too many times to be strong again. maybe...one day...when i find love.

Vivacious-- when i'm around a certain group of people i can be vivacious. those people make me happy and i can just ignore any of the crap that's been happening in my life and just...be. thanks, Chris, for being one of those people ^_^

Vulnerable-- oh yes...quite. however i try to hide behind an impenetrable wall. once you break that down you'll see that i am quite vulnerable. **sigh**

I will be selling off some of the books that I have. I'll be getting lists together soon and posting them here with prices. Of course if you buy multiple books, the price will be combined and cut. If you want me to send them to you, you will need to pay postage.
